Lacuna || 100 words
Through the reiterations, investigations and research of my projects and models I was innately drawn to the ways in which texture, material and form can overtly and subtly change the entire atmosphere and mood of a space. The room I was studying is plain and simple and I wanted to explore the ways in which experimental materialism could transform a space into something completely new and unrecognisable while still maintaining the functionality of a room. Therefore, I have called my project Lacuna as it means ‘a blank space of missing part’ highlighting that it is the textural nature of materiality that we are often missing.
